The Popular Show Campaign 4 Reveals the Fighters Table

Since the launch of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a wide array of heroes, and a gripping narrative featuring angels, demons, and malevolent powers growing in power within Dol-Makjar.

Heads-up: Spoilers for the latest installment of this adventure are included.

The Combat-Oriented Party Introduced

The latest chapter finished on a huge suspense moment and presented the first table of heroes who will separate from the primary party to undertake their independent quest, apart from the other two tables.

The Soldiers table consists of Teor (brought to life by Travis), Thimble (Laura), the fierce warrior (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).

Why Split the Party?

Given a large ensemble, it was evident from the outset that maintaining everyone at one table would be unfeasible.

This explains, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, connecting the individual narratives before splitting into three distinct groups: Warriors, Schemers, and Questers.

What Defines the Soldiers Table

As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for participants who are drawn to a typically action-packed battle-oriented gameplay experience where diplomatic options are few and far between.

Upon first impression, figures such as the reluctant priest the cleric might look out of place, but the developments of the latest installment show why these five characters are best suited for the combat party.

Motivations for Departure

To begin with, the group knows exactly where to go next after a brutal first encounter with The Crow Keepers.

An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose demise initiated the story’s plot—exploited The Crow Keepers for his own means, breaking into the hidden lair, striking the character, and swiping all the magical artifacts to auction.

The antagonist then paid off his obligations and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, above Dol-Makjar, with Cyd close behind.

Individual Reasons

Additionally, each character has a specific drive to leave the city the urban setting:

  • The agile hero, as the close ally and best friend, seeks revenge.
  • The knowledgeable figure is familiar with Timmony and warns that it is a hostile location.
  • The strong character and Wicander, having defied his family’s wishes to kill Teor and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
  • However, their position as key figures in House Halovar could help the team access locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
  • Moreover, The grateful character pledged a life debt to Wicander for his rescue and will now follow him anywhere.

Fugitives

Lastly, all of them are sought by the powers that rule the setting for a multiple motives, making remaining behind too risky:

  • The rogue and Kattigan are known criminals.
  • The strong figure and Wicander betrayed the powerful family and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
  • The fighter is wanted dead by House Halovar.

This results in them no alternative but to travel to the remote area in quest for Casimir.

What’s Next?

Based on the recent installment’s post-show segment, we learn that the Soldiers table won’t be around next week, leaving the rest of the players to assemble the Questers and Planners groups.

Audiences can anticipate learning which adventurers will be where in the story’s last Overture episode, released on the upcoming Thursday.
